The last Sunday was a sad day not only for Akaa-Volley but specially for the closest people of Sakari Mäkinen - one of the most successful volleyball players in Finland and the one of the key player of Akaa-Volley when fighting for the gold medal of the Finnish Champions League 20224-25. Mäkinen was involved in a dramatic car accident when coming from Tampere to Akaa for the morning exercise.
Still today the 9th January, we do not know how and when Mäkinen will be in the condition to play again. Naturally, Akaa-Volley as the sports association and all the Akaa-Volley fans - as well as all volleyball players and supporters in the country are waiting for 'Sakke' to recover and play for Akaa-Volley again.
